![]() ![]() The closing one with Oracle and Huntress on the rooftop, and the bat flying by the moon was so cool. She brought a good outsiders feel, and I can't wait to meet her mother, the Black Canary! The shots through the city were great as well. Dinah LANCE (yes Lance, contrary to reports) was nice. I'll admit, when I saw Huntress in previews I was expecting to hate her, but she was really, really likeable. She did a great job bringing Barbara to life, and I hope we get to see more of her in that kickass Batgril costume. They used the movie Catwoman costume! Amazing! I loved Dina Meyer as Batgirl/Oracle. The passing glimpses of Batman were well done, Ian Abercrombie was a great Alfred, and the brief shots of Catwoman and Joker (voiced by Mark Hamill, how cool is that!?!) were all really well done. It was like watching a spin-off of the Batman films. But this was fantastic! The guys that did this show, did an excellent job. I did the same thing last year with the Smallville pilot, which didn't really impress me. I'll admit, I watched Birds of Prey, since I like to give a comic book show a chance before writing it off. There are also considerable differences in the score and sound effects. In the TV series, the relationship begins in the pilot and progresses through the series. There a few alternate scenes involving Barbara Gordon, including one that indicates her involvement with a fellow teacher has been going on for six months.Scenes originally shot with Sherilyn Fenn were reshot with Mia Sara. The most obvious difference is that Harley Quinn was recast. The whole thing has new narration by Alfred Pennyworth. It cuts directly from her in the shower to her opening the door, where she is shot by Joker. It then cuts to Barbara Gordon's apartment, intercut with footage of her fighting. It then adds new footage of Batman and Catwoman fighting. It starts with footage of Batman fighting Joker, then has a shot of Helena and Selina Kyle walking together that wasn't in the previous version. Barbara then hears this reporter, who is on her TV, announce Selina has been murdered and goes to the door where she is shot by Joker. There is a voice-over by a reporter on this. The original began with Selina Kyle's murder, then cut to Barbara Gordon in the shower, intercut with Batman and Batgirl fighting Joker. While this may end up being the case in any future appearances of the film version of the team, Birds of Prey seems to let Harley take the initial lead, at least in the heat of their current conflict against Black Mask. The original version of the pilot differs from the aired version in numerous ways. Alongside Black Canary, Huntress has been one of the most frequent and consistent members of the Birds of Prey team from the comics, more often than not serving as the team leader. However, given that Huntress has no issues with killing, the relationship is distant and often strained. While this film explores Huntress' initial return to Gotham, she does later end up as an extension of the Batman family. Her origin in the comics is the same as it is portrayed in the film. decided to go with the Helena Bertinelli version of Huntress. While Helena Wayne is certainly an interesting character, Warner Bros. ![]() It wasn't until after the start of the New 52 that Helena Wayne returned, working alongside Power Girl on Earth-2 until they both happen to end up on the main Earth. After Crisis on Infinite Earths, her existence was erased from the DC continuity, alongside several other heroes. ![]() The first Huntress was actually Helena Wayne, daughter of Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle, originating from the alternate Earth-2. The comics' origins for Huntress are a little more complex, as there is more than one Huntress to consider. ![]()
